A popular Kalenjin artist known as Second Junior Kotestes has found himself at the center of a storm after being accused of scamming students from Karatina University.
According to multiple accounts from students, the musician allegedly received a KSh 20,000 deposit to perform at an event organized by Kalenjin students but failed to show up on the scheduled day.
Reports circulating on social media suggest that the artist was booked for a KSh 55,000 show and was paid KSh 20,000 upfront as a commitment fee.
However, after receiving the money, Second Junior reportedly went silent — switching off his phone and cutting off all communication with the event organizers. On the day of the performance, he was nowhere to be found, leaving disappointed fans and furious students demanding answers.

Kiplangat Arap Tuei, one of the students involved in organizing the event, was among the first to call out the artist publicly, alleging that the performer had disappeared without refunding the money.
“Arudishe pesa ya comrades kwanzaaa! Hakuna wan Millien,” he wrote in frustration, echoing the sentiments of many who felt deceived by the incident.
Another individual, identified as Korir Benardk, also took to social media to criticize the musician’s conduct. In a trending post, he mocked the artist’s disappearance, stating that Second Junior “went offline faster than his music career” after pocketing the money.
The post went on to describe how the artist “turned into a ghost,” refusing to pick calls or respond to messages from the organizers.
Ironically, other scheduled performers — SJ Boy and Tobby — honored their commitments and showed up at the Karatina University event as planned.
Their appearance contrasted sharply with Second Junior’s no-show, further angering students who had been eagerly waiting to see the artist perform live.

While the accusations remain unverified, the growing online backlash has painted the artist in a negative light, with many demanding that he return the money immediately.
As the story continues to circulate across student platforms and entertainment pages, fans are waiting to see whether Second Junior will respond to the allegations or remain silent.
For now, the pressure is mounting — and until he clears his name or refunds the students, Second Junior’s reputation in the campus entertainment scene appears to be taking a serious hit.
