Controversial prophet David Owuor has hit back at Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, rejecting claims that he was out of the country for knee surgery despite allegedly performing healing miracles.
In a statement posted on his social media pages on Thursday, January 29, Owuor described Duale’s remarks as “false, unverified, and misleading.”
“The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness strongly refutes recent public remarks attributed to CS Aden Duale regarding Prophet Dr. David Owuor.
The statements suggesting that the prophet of the Lord underwent medical procedures as alleged are false, unverified and misleading,” Owuor stated.
The prophet clarified that the trip referenced by Duale was an official international mission in Europe, where he conducted revival meetings and other ministry activities.
“At the time being referenced, Prophet Owuor was on an official international mission in Europe, holding revival meetings and faithfully carrying out ministry work focused on the message of repentance, holiness and preparations for the coming of the Messiah,” the statement said. He has since returned to Kenya.
Owuor’s ministry emphasized the need for responsibility and accuracy in public statements, urging leaders, the media, and commentators to respect matters of faith.
The statement highlighted that ministry gatherings focus on prayer, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ, with attendees sharing personal testimonies of spiritual restoration and healings.
“These are matters of faith and religious belief and should be treated with the respect afforded to all faith-based expressions,” the ministry said.
The dispute follows Duale’s comments on Wednesday night during a Citizen TV interview, where he suggested that Owuor’s claimed healing powers were inconsistent with seeking medical attention abroad.
Duale referenced the prophet’s alleged trip for knee surgery and warned against miracle claims, linking them to the 2022 Shakahola incident.
The controversy around Owuor escalated in December 2025 when he claimed to have healed patients suffering from diseases, including HIV and AIDS.
He further presented doctors who had allegedly tested the patients and confirmed negative results.
This prompted government investigations, with Duale calling for the revocation of licenses for doctors involved in the rallies.
