Position: ICT Clerk
Reporting to: Returning Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

The ICT Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality first-level ICT support services to the Returning Officer at the tallying centre.
  • Restoring normal services to users promptly by resolving technical hitches, fulfilling service requests, and answering queries to enable efficient work.
  • Preparing, configuring, and testing KIEMS kits in readiness for elections.
  • Working with the Constituency ICT Officer (CICT) to provide technical support to Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers, and Clerks during elections.
  • Ensuring KIEMS kits are fully charged and functional at all times.
  • Performing data backup and restoration on KIEMS kits.
  • Participating in the training of Support Electoral Trainers, Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers, and Clerks.
  • Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by the Returning Officer.


Job Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be Kenyan citizens of high integrity and strictly non-partisan.
  • Hold a diploma in ICT, IT, or a related field.
  • Possess ICT certification (MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent) — an added advantage.
  • Have at least 2 years of industrial experience in ICT support in a busy environment.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience in computer hardware, networking, and software diagnosis.
  • Have effective communication and good report-writing skills.
  • Be available for the entire electoral exercise period.
  • Be residents of the constituency or ward in which they apply.

Wages

  • ICT Clerks will be paid Kshs. 1,500 per day.
