Emotional Song Composed to Honour Bomet Boy Emmanuel Allegedly Killed by His Father

The tragic death of Emmanuel Kimutai, the 12-year-old Grade Six pupil from Kipisarwet village, Bomet County, continues to touch hearts across the country. In the latest show of solidarity, rising artist Joaphat Jose has composed a powerful song dedicated to Emmanuel’s memory.

The song, which is already gaining traction on social media, not only calls for justice for Emmanuel but also seeks to create awareness among parents and guardians against subjecting children to violence.

Jose said he was moved by Emmanuel’s heartbreaking story — the boy allegedly lost his life after being beaten by his father for eating bread and milk belonging to a neighbour. An autopsy later confirmed Emmanuel died from severe chest injuries, lung damage, and internal bleeding.

“This song is my way of speaking for Emmanuel and many other children who suffer in silence. No child deserves to die for such a reason, and no parent should resort to violence in disciplining their children,” Jose noted.

The song’s release has drawn emotional reactions online, with Kenyans praising the artist for using his voice to not only honour Emmanuel but also to spread awareness about child rights and responsible parenting.

As investigations into Emmanuel’s death continue, the song stands as a reminder of the urgent need to protect children and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
