Moi Comprehensive School has broken its silence following the sudden and mysterious death of a Grade 10 student, Moses, an incident that sparked outrage and protests from parents.
Angry parents stormed the institution demanding answers, pushing the boy’s body on a metallic trolley into the compound as tension quickly escalated. Moi comprehensive principal revealed what madam did before Moses collapses and dies
Police officers were called to the scene to calm the situation as emotions ran high, with parents accusing the administration of failing to provide clear information.
According to the school principal, Caroline, the incident happened at around 10:10am after a teacher noticed several learners standing outside their classroom.
The teacher, identified as Madam Abigael, reportedly asked the students to line up in front of the class and began questioning them over their absence from lessons.
Before she could question Moses, he suddenly collapsed. Teachers rushed to assist him and took him to the nurse’s station, only to find the nurse absent.
The deputy headteacher realised the boy was gasping for breath, triggering panic among staff as they attempted to respond swiftly.
Caroline said she personally drove the boy to seek medical attention while efforts were made to reach his parents, including his father who supplies vegetables to the school.
She stated that doctors pronounced him dead at 10:10am, describing the incident as heartbreaking for the school community.
Before any medical procedures could continue, authorities reportedly asked for the parents’ presence and an Occurrence Book report, causing delays until around midday.
“This is a sad situation that befell the school, and we are sorry for the loss and the family for whatever happened in the school,” Caroline said.
Despite the explanation, parents remain unconvinced and continue to demand a thorough investigation to establish the exact cause of the boy’s death.
