Chief Finance Officer

Purpose
Kenya Airways is seeking a forward-looking Chief Finance Officer to lead the airline’s financial strategy, safeguard long-term sustainability, and support growth. This C-Suite role reports directly to the Group Managing Director & CEO and is central to shaping Kenya Airways’ financial direction, ensuring compliance, and strengthening stakeholder confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of financial management, including planning, reporting, treasury, and tax.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategies that enhance profitability, growth, and shareholder value.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while maintaining world-class governance standards.
  • Oversee corporate finance, investor relations, and key stakeholder engagement with regulators, auditors, and financial institutions.
  • Build and guide a high-performing Finance team, fostering integrity, capability, and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or CA).
  • At least 15 years’ senior-level experience in finance or accounting, with a record of leadership in strategy and financial management.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, corporate governance, and financial systems.
  • Demonstrated success in managing finance functions across regional or global markets, including multi-currency operations and diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in the airline or transport sector is an added advantage.

First Officer (Pilots)

Purpose

Job Description
As a First Officer, you will support the Captain in ensuring safe and efficient operations. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing to the airline’s vision while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as second in command during flights.
  • Work closely with fellow crew members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Comply with aviation regulations and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Kenyan citizen.
  • Valid KCAA CPL/ATPL with Instrument Rating.
  • Minimum 200 flight hours (excluding simulator) for interview eligibility.
  • Minimum 250 flight hours (excluding simulator) for employment.
  • Class One Medical Certificate.
  • KCAA English Proficiency Level 4 or above.
  • Multi-Engine, Performance A, and Gas Turbine Ratings.
  • Minimum height: 160 cm.
  • High school education with a minimum aggregate grade of C- (minus), including at least C- in Mathematics, English, and Physics or a general science subject.
